2. Museum of Contemporary Art
Next to Kale Fortress, the Museum of Contemporary Art combines a collection with works by Picasso and other international artists with one of the best views of the city.
3. St. Panteleimon in Nerezi
For a quiet, spiritual experience, visit the Church of St. Panteleimon in Gorno Nerezi. Its 12th-century frescoes are among the most important in Byzantine art – and many tourists miss them.

4. Quiet corners of Matka Canyon
Matka Canyon is popular, but walk a little past the dam and the boats and you will find quiet paths, the clifftop St. Nicholas Monastery and calm spots for kayaking.
5. City Park in the morning
Skopje City Park is a favourite with locals for a morning walk or coffee – a glimpse of the city’s daily rhythm away from the monuments.
6. The back streets of the Old Bazaar

7. The Skopje Aqueduct
