Running from June 21 to July 30, 2026, the 47th edition of the Skopje Summer Festival transforms the Macedonian capital into an open stage for music, theatre, exhibitions, dance, and cultural performances. The 47th edition of the Skopje Summer Festival officially opens this evening, marking the beginning of one of North Macedonia’s most important cultural events. Over the next 40 days, visitors to Skopje will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse program of concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, and artistic events held across the city’s most iconic cultural venues.

The opening ceremony begins at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence, where visitors can explore the exhibition “75 Years of the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia.” The exhibition showcases valuable archival documents highlighting key moments in the country’s history and cultural heritage.

Following the exhibition, guests will enjoy the opening concert “Legacy in Silk: The Sounds of Macedonia from Byzantium to the Present Day,” an original project by composer Petar Hristov. The performance features the Polyphony Chamber String Orchestra together with guest musicians, presenting a unique musical journey that blends traditional Macedonian melodies, Byzantine influences, and contemporary arrangements.

Throughout the festival, Skopje will host a rich selection of cultural events at various locations across the city.
