East Gate Mall is the largest shopping and entertainment centre in North Macedonia and one of the biggest in the wider Balkan region. It opened in October 2021 as the retail heart of the much larger East Gate complex on the eastern side of Skopje, and it quickly became one of the city’s most popular places to shop, eat and spend a rainy or very hot afternoon.
What you’ll find inside
Spread over five floors and around 57,000 m², the mall brings together more than 220 international and local brands. Familiar names such as Zara, Nike and Adidas sit alongside labels that arrived in Macedonia for the first time here, including several well-known fashion houses. There is a large hypermarket for groceries, electronics stores, and plenty of cafés and restaurants with hundreds of seats when you need a break.
Entertainment for the whole family
Beyond shopping, East Gate is built for a full day out. It has a modern multi-screen Cineplexx cinema, a spacious food court with cuisines from around the world, a fitness centre and play areas for children. The bright, air-conditioned interior makes it an easy choice during Skopje’s hot summers or colder winter days.
How to get there
The mall sits about 3 km east of the city centre, roughly a 10–15 minute drive. Taxis in Skopje are inexpensive, several city buses stop nearby, and there are around 2,000 free parking spaces if you are driving.
Good to know
Like most malls in Skopje, East Gate is open every day, including weekends, with long opening hours that stretch into the evening. It is a comfortable, modern space, so it works well for families, film nights and shopping sprees alike.
